 38 The Salcombe

Apartment 38 at The Salcombe was a two-phase refurbishment project for new owners. We needed to take into consideration the various restrictions by the apartments' management company, including when work can be carried out, ensuring the impact on other residents is minimal, not making any changes that alter the view from the exterior, and not making any changes that will structurally impact the building.

To meet the owner's requirements while factoring in their summer holiday bookings, the project was planned in two phases. Phase one focussed on getting the apartment ready for summer lettings. The property is let for six weeks of the summer and through September so it was essential to keep refurbishment works on track and completed by the end of June in line with the Apartments' codes of conduct. Completing minimal but effective work was Phase One objective, including painting, carpet cleaning, arranging and installing new furniture and curtains, and adding new doors internally. It refreshed the apartment ahead of the Summer season.

Phase two was a more comprehensive refurbishment of the apartment, which included replacing the bathrooms and kitchen as well as adding new external patio doors. These works were carried out within three months and renewed tired and dated parts of the home

The kitchen in particular was a special project, using a local cabinet maker for the bespoke fittings. Having seen an example of the kitchen they wanted, owners of the apartment showed Katherine an image of the kitchen, who found then went about finding the right local supplier to recreate it.

A big thank you for the fantastic refurb - looks amazing and we are really pleased
